Stainless steel centrifugation casting

Stainless steel centrifugation consists of pouring stainless steel or nickel-based melt into a rotating shell to counter the effects of gravity.

You thereby obtain tubes by horizontal centrifugation, or shaped components (such as spheres) by vertical centrifugation.

In the case of tubes, this process is an alternative to those used in continuous fabrication.

In the case of vertical centrifugation, the process is a direct alternative to open-die forging and ring-rolling.

 

The advantage of vertical centrifugation over sand mould pouring is that there is no porosity. When compared to the forging process, it is normally more cost-effective.

Centrifugated pieces can then be successively subjected to other operations, on demand, such as machining.
